Tristan Renfrow, 17, is a senior at Cedarburg High School and has been studying percussion since fifth grade. He is extremely honored to have this opportunity to play on stage with the Lakeshore Symphonic Band. Tristan has enjoyed a wide repertoire of music over the past six years through his involvements with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Percussion Ensemble, the UWM Youth Wind Ensemble, and the Florentine Opera children's chorus. Tristan has also enjoyed playing in his high school's marching and symphonic bands and pit orchestra. Recently, Tristan was a winner of the Civic Music Association's High School Showcase Concerto Competition and also a finalist in the MYSO and UWM Youth Wind Ensemble Concerto Competitions. After graduating in June, Tristan looks forward to playing with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps as they tour the country this summer. In the fall, he plans to attend Lawrence University as a percussion performance major and will seek a career in music. In his spare time, Tristan teaches and plays drum set, enjoys jamming with his friends and attends many concerts, music and theater events. In addition to thanking the Lakeshore Symphonic Band for awarding him this experience, Tristan would like to thank his many music directors over the years, from whom he has learned so much. He would especially like to thank his teacher, Ms. Linda Siegel and his mother for their unwavering support.
